About
First Class Flooring was founded in 2019 with a straightforward approach to residential hardwood flooring: provide dependable workmanship, communicate clearly, and personally take responsibility for every project. Based in Herriman, UT, we serve homeowners throughout the Salt Lake City area who want lasting results and direct attention to the details that matter inside their homes.
With more than 10 years of hands-on flooring experience and thousands of floors refinished, we understand how much the right approach can affect the appearance and longevity of genuine hardwood. Our work includes hardwood floor refinishing, hardwood flooring installation, hardwood floor repairs, engineered hardwood installation, custom staining, buffing and polishing, hardwood stair work, and individual board replacement.
We are 100% owner-operated. Rather than sending different crews into customers’ homes, we personally perform the work and remain accountable from the initial estimate through completion. That direct involvement helps us maintain consistent workmanship and gives homeowners one point of contact throughout their flooring project.
Material selection matters as much as careful preparation. We use durable, water-based, low-VOC products designed to protect hardwood while supporting healthier indoor air quality. Refinishing customers can choose between two finish coats backed by a 2-year warranty or three coats backed by a 5-year warranty. Actual finish life depends on factors such as household traffic, pets, cleaning habits, and everyday wear.
Whether we are sanding an aging floor, replacing boards damaged by pet stains, coordinating a custom stain, or installing new hardwood, our goal remains the same: provide reliable flooring work that respects the home and the homeowner. Every project begins with an always-free, zero-obligation estimate tailored to the flooring and work required.
Our Values
Direct Customer Care
We believe the details that matter to homeowners should matter just as much to the person performing the work. That is why we stay personally involved throughout every flooring project. From evaluating worn finishes and damaged boards to discussing stain colors or planning a new installation, our owner-operated approach keeps communication direct and responsibility clear. Homeowners do not have to wonder which crew will arrive or who is responsible for the finished result. We take ownership of the work ourselves. This approach also allows us to respond closely to the individual needs of each home rather than treating every floor the same way. Whether the project involves a small localized repair or a larger refinishing project, we focus on dependable service, careful workmanship, and the details required to produce a result suited to the home.
Hardwood flooring should be treated with materials selected for durability as well as the household using the space. We use water-based, low-VOC products that provide protective performance while helping reduce strong indoor odors. For refinishing projects, homeowners can select finish systems backed by clear warranty options. Two coats include a 2-year warranty, while three coats include a 5-year warranty. If a covered issue occurs within the applicable warranty period, we personally return to address it. Finish longevity naturally depends on factors such as foot traffic, pets, cleaning routines, and overall wear, so we provide straightforward information rather than making unrealistic promises. Our focus is on preparing each surface carefully, applying appropriate products, and giving homeowners dependable flooring care designed around real residential use.
Personal accountability is central to how we work. First Class Flooring is fully licensed and insured, and every project receives direct owner involvement instead of being passed between changing crews. Our 10+ years of experience includes thousands of refinished floors and hands-on work across installation, repairs, staining, polishing, stairs, and damaged board replacement. That background helps us evaluate what a floor actually needs, whether that means restoring existing wood or addressing a specific problem. We believe reliability also means respecting the homeowner’s goals, communicating clearly, and standing behind completed work. From an always-free estimate through final inspection, our process is built around providing dependable service homeowners can count on. We accept cash, check, and credit payments to keep the process straightforward from the first conversation through project completion.
